This is an intermediate class for students who have taken the 201 - Fingerless Mitts Class (or have similar knitting experience).
Class begins with a discussion of how to read swatches and how to measure yourself to produce your own custom raglan pullover sweater pattern. This easy-to-follow and easy-to-personalize sweater pattern will be used to create a gorgeous garment of your very own! Using this versatile pattern, Kelly will guide you through knitting a sweater with variations that will suit your own style and allow you to gradually progress in skill level to fit your individual ambition and personal taste! Along the way, you'll see your sweater grow, with seamless construction, simple shaping, and optional eyelet details. Learn techniques to set aside and pick up sleeve stitches, elegantly finish the neckline, and add an optional collar.
This workshop-style class is broken up into individual sessions so you can work at your own pace. Each session will happen on the first Sunday of each month. You can sign up as needed, as you progress to each part. You also have the option to come and use the session time to make progress on your knitting and get advice on your project.
Tools and materials needed (Available at Stitches):
Circular knitting needles in the size that matches your swatch in 36" or larger
Enough yarn in the same dye lot to complete your sweater (Please use the calculator here to estimate the yardage you will need)
**Please come to your first session early (9am) with a 5 inch by 5 inch swatch of the yarn you'd like to use, already knitted and preferably washed/blocked. We will take measurements and do some simple math to create a custom pattern!
15 years old and up, younger students may be allowed with instructor approval. Please contact us with questions.
We require pre-registration for all of our classes. Fourteen days notice is required to reschedule or cancel any class for a refund. By purchasing this class you are agreeing to these terms.
