02/04 & 02/11 Sewing 201 – Skirt
February 4 & 11, 6:30pm - 9:00pm (Tuesdays)
This is an intermediate class for people who have taken the Sewing 102 - Pants class or have similar sewing experience (including sewing from a pattern)
Hone the skills you need to sew from patterns. In this class use a pattern to cut it out and piece a garment, make darts, put in a zipper and make a hem and waistband. All while creating a fun and sassy skirt.
Tools and materials needed (Available at Stitches):
2" X 18" Ruler
Fabric Pen or Chalk
Hand Sewing Needle
New Look pattern 6053, 6130, 6400 (view A, D or E), 6843 or Kwik Sew pattern K2957 (view A or B)
Amount of cotton, cotton blend, linen, or lightweight wool woven fabric called for on the pattern for the size and style skirt you wish to make (pre-washed before the class).
1-1/8 yards lightweight fusible interfacing if called for on pattern back.
Slide hook & eye
15 years old and up, younger students may be allowed with instructor approval. Please contact us with questions.
