March 22 & 29, 9:30am - 12:00noon (Sundays)

This is a workshop-style class, appropriate for students who have completed our Sewing 102 - Pants Class, Sewing 103 - Skirt Class, or have similar sewing experience and have completed at least one garment using a paper pattern.

Advance your sewing skills and start making your own comfortable knit-wear garments. Learn how to sew knit and stretch fabrics on a home-sewing machine by making a classic t-shirt!  No serger required! Choose a classic t-shirt pattern with simple variations: cap, short, or long sleeves; round, scoop, or v-neck.

Students will learn a variety of techniques required for working with knit fabrics, including how to measure stretch, utilize tools and notions specific to knits, adapt stitches, and how to use a twin needle.

(Please note: Depending on personal time-management, some students may have homework between sessions and/or need to finish their t-shirt at home.)
