5/23 4:00pm Sashiko Style Visible Mending Workshop
May 23, 4:00pm - 6:30pm (Saturday)
No prior experience required.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of sashiko, a Japanese style of visible mending, by creating your own sashiko style denim patch. A great class for beginners and seasoned stitchers alike, this workshop combines elements of texture, color and function to create your own one of a kind patch, or denim mending project. All materials are provided by the instructor, bring a pair of torn jeans if you have them.
What to bring: A pair of jeans that needs mending (or just make a patch if you don't have anything to mend!).
One 2 ½ - hour session.
About the instructor:
Erin Eggenburg is a maker, mender and instructor living in the Pacific Northwest. She is the owner of wrenbirdarts, a custom embroidery and handkerchief business.
