Embroidery has come a long way since your grandma’s samplers. Explore the beauty and versatility of hand needlework in this two-session course. You will learn traditional stitches and new ideas for applying these techniques to modern designs. Suitable for those new to hand embroidery and those who want to brush up on their skills, you will embellish a tote bag, apron or cut of fabric of your choosing using a variety of different stitches. Two 2 ½ - hour sessions. Tools and materials needed (Available at Stitches): Cotton DMC floss (3 colors minimum- no metallic/sparky floss) Package of embroidery needles 10 - 12 inch embroidery hoop Small pair of scissors Water soluble fabric pen Canvas tote bag, apron or half-yard of cotton solid color fabric Half-yard cut or package of stabilizer Optional: needle threading tool, storage box and bobbins for floss and supplies
