This is a beginning class for people with no prior sewing experience.
The Bag Class offers beginning sewers a chance to get acquainted with basic fabric cutting and measuring skills, basic machine use, stitching, hemming and seam finishing among other techniques. In the class you’ll make a cool shopping bag with a pocket and handles from medium to heavy weight fabric. Two 2 ½ - hour sessions.
Tools and materials needed (Available at Stitches): Scissors Pins Seam Ripper 12" to 24" ruler Chalk or Fabric Pen 1 yard of 45” wide or ¾ yard of 60” wide Heavy Weight Cotton (Home Dec weight or canvas) for bag body. 1/3 yard 60” wide Heavy Weight Cotton (Home Dec weight or canvas) for the bag handles.
